Director of Photography

A director of photography and filmmaker with a passion for visual storytelling set in the greater American West, I graduated from Boston University, where I developed my skills to capture compelling imagery that resonates with audiences. I have had the privilege of shooting multiple award-winning shorts, where I use visual language to emphasize the story through lighting and camera techniques. With a commitment to innovation and creativity, I continually push the boundaries of my craft in every project I undertake, placing nature at the center of my visual craft.

Reel

A collection of shots from my most recent work.

Cinematography Exercise 1 (2024)

This exercise inspired by "In the Mood for Love," shot on 16mm, looks at creating a realisic daylight scene in studio, and nailing the coordination between dolly operation, camera operation, and actor coordination, in a single take, in under two hours.

Cinematography Exercise 2 (2024)

This exercise, inspired by "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri," attempts to create a fire effect in studio utilizing LED and Tungsten lights, while also creating intriguing camera moves in a limited space.

Cinematography Exercise 3 (2024)

This exercise is meant to imitate a scene from "Bladerunner 2049." The goal for this shoot was to experiment with bouncing light off water ripples and match lighting and camera continuity on the closeups without moving the single wall pre-erected.

The Interview (2024)

This short looks to consistently match daylight conditions on location throughout the day, and emphasize the script.

Flashlight Scene (2024)

This flashlight scene was shot in a single four-hour session. I had the honor of operating A-Camera including all dolly work and some static shots.
